This season represents my tenth year of serving on the greens commitee of our golf club. It is a 100+ year old private club located in the northeast US with approximatley 300 members. During my tenure (which I never thought would be this long) I have served as chairman and done more than my fair share of thankless dirty work on the club's behalf. I'm not sure if I will serve another year or not, nor am I sure that I will be asked as once again after 5 stable years club "politics" is rearing its ugly head again and as usual the green keeper is the target, "because he is not capable of taking us to the next level". Don't you just criinge every time you hear that phrase "the next level".
Anyway this is what has prompted me to start this blog, to expose this process and more important to expose the thinking.
